Shower installation
in Little Rock, AR

Your shower walls are cracked and stained beyond cleaning. Water leaks through the grout lines and you're worried about what's happening behind those walls. The shower pan flexes when you step on it, or the fiberglass is so old it's permanently discolored. You want a new shower that looks good and doesn't leak, but you're not sure what the installation process involves or how long it takes.

We're a local plumbing company that installs new showers throughout Little Rock. From older homes in Hillcrest to newer properties in Chenal Valley, we handle complete shower installations that stop leaks and give you a bathroom you're proud to use.

Your Local Plumber: Building a Watertight Shower Space

Shower installation means removing your old shower and building a new one from the ground up. This includes removing old walls and the shower pan, checking and repairing the subfloor if needed, installing a new waterproof shower pan with proper drainage slope, waterproofing the walls, installing new wall panels or tile, connecting all the plumbing fixtures, and adding shower doors or a curtain. The goal is a completely watertight shower that drains properly and looks great. Installation typically takes 1 to 3 days depending on whether you choose a prefab shower kit or custom tile work.

Waterproofing is the most critical part of any shower installation. Water absolutely cannot get behind your shower walls or under your shower pan. We install waterproof membranes on the walls and make sure the shower pan is completely sealed. The pan needs proper slope so water flows toward the drain instead of pooling in corners. Homes in The Heights and Quapaw Quarter with older plumbing sometimes need additional prep work to bring everything up to current code.

Wall installation comes next. Prefab shower kits use acrylic or fiberglass wall panels that interlock and seal at the seams. These go up faster and cost less than tile. Custom tile showers take longer but give you unlimited design options. Either way, the walls attach to cement board or waterproof backing that's been properly sealed. We make sure everything is level and plumb so doors fit correctly and water doesn't run the wrong direction.

Plumbing fixtures get installed after the walls are up. The shower valve controls water temperature and flow. The showerhead and any handheld sprayers connect to pipes that run through the walls. Everything needs to line up correctly with the rough plumbing that was installed during construction. We test all connections thoroughly before finishing the walls. Properties in West Little Rock and Pleasant Valley sometimes want multiple showerheads or rain shower fixtures, which requires additional plumbing work.

Why Local Matters
For Your Plumbing

You could call a big national chain. They'll probably charge you more and send someone who doesn't know Little Rock. Local plumbers understand that homes in Pulaski Heights have different plumbing than new builds in West Little Rock. They know which neighborhoods have hard water problems and which areas tend to have foundation shifts that affect plumbing.

When you call a local company, you get someone who answers the phone and can usually tell you right away what's probably happening and when they can get there. No automated system. No waiting on hold for 20 minutes.

Response times are better too. A local plumber is 15 minutes away, not coming from another city. If you've got a burst pipe or sewage backing up, those minutes matter. Plus, local companies know the city inspectors, understand Little Rock's specific codes, and can get permits processed faster. When you need plumbing work done right and done quickly, local is the way to go.
